Here It Comes, Again...

MOBILIZE THE SOCCER MOM'S!!!

On the Agenda for next Tuesday's (Jan 16, 2007) meeting:

ORDINANCE NO. 147-12007:

Create Sec. 19.24(12), General Code of Winnebago County; Authorize Institution of Community Park Soccer Field Reservation Fees
Submitted by: PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE

I am 100% against this. In the last budget, we added in $170,000 to the budget, just because we could, yet we want to once again charge our youth to use soccer fields.

Let's get some people out to the meeting.

and just why shouldn't they pay to use the facilities.....this is clearly yet another pet project of the county serving mainly Oshkosh residents....

I don't see any county parks in Neenah-Menasha, why not a county park in Omro?

The county shouldn't be in the park business....let the towns and cities do that.....

But the County Park is used by many who live in Omro,Winneconne, and the N-M area.

They use Winnebago County by having their children play soccer at the fields or play in adult softball leagues.

I want to coorect you, the County does have Parks by way of Boat Landings all over Winnebago County.

Wonderful that we have these parks, the problem is the overlapping taxing entities.....

the people who live in cities end up paying for a lot of county services that they also pay for at the city level...these services mainly benifit those in the towns

a boat launch isn't a park....and we have these in the city as well

a better solution would be to have a county park system that would manage ALL the parks like Milwaukee county has or to donate the county parks to the cities or towns that they are in.

those of us living in the cities are growing tired of paying for these things twice

Is there any plans for the tennis courts or swimming beach at county park? I believe they are both closed.
